bumbo

A popular pirate drink made from rum, water, sugar and nutmeg or cinnamon.

Better than Royal Navy Grog! George Washington used 160 gallons of rum to treat 391 voters to bumbo during a 1758 campaign.

• 2 ounces rum
• 1 ounce water
• 2 sugar cubes
• Sprinkle 1/4 teaspoon to taste cinnamon
• Sprinkle 1/4 teaspoon to taste nutmeg

Serve neat in a glass, or a carved out pineapple for a fancier time.

Substitute apple cider fer rum t’ make it non-alcoholic. (We realize this just makes it a fancy apple cider, but it be festive nonetheless!)
